Happy 110th birthday to this penny. Not the most rare from this year but a neat addition to my collection and the oldest Lincoln I own.

This desk full of old papers

It might been cool finding King Tut’s tomb, but his desk full of old papers would have been my aim. The reason why most of the drawers are missing? I bought them. A dig!

A 1942 Aussie penny with a World War II connection? I can only hope to make a connection.

On the whole - I’d rather be surfing.

On the whole - I’d rather be surfing. This was originally written by the Surfaris, and the covered by the Ventures. I was curious how the drumming would be written as notes in the sheet music -or if the single lyric “WIPEOUT” would be in there at the top- it wasn’t. Still, a classic that upon hearing it can turn any flat surface into a drum kit.

The nerd in me told the geek in me that it was ok to buy these Russian night vision goggles at an estate sale today. Yes! They work! Dark basement or attic? No problem!

STOP! in the name of history hunting!

#foundpaper #music #thesupremes #1967 #urbanarcheology #estatesalefinds #dianaross
I picked this gem up a few weeks ago. This first edition (for 1967) of the Supremes fan club news letter. The big announcement was the release of their new single “Now you’re gone...”. And a tease for a possible movie deal. A neat piece of 60s music history with a separate letter asking club members to remit 50 cents for the next to editions.
